Mosquito Control
"The Little Yellow Airplane"
At Summer Agro Services, our "little yellow airplane" plays a crucial role in keeping Indian River comfortable and mosquito-free. Here’s how we assist the Indian River Mosquito Control District with targeted, effective aerial control:
-
Aerial Control of Mosquito Larvae: Our team uses fixed-wing planes to apply granular or pelleted materials directly to areas where mosquito larvae are present. By controlling mosquitoes at the larval stage, we prevent them from maturing and becoming biting adults, enhancing both public health and comfort.
-
Safe, Approved Materials: We use only EPA-approved materials, regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and always comply with local, state, and federal laws.
-
Experienced, Licensed Professionals: All our pilots are licensed, insured, and trained through ongoing certification requirements. Each operational team member holds a valid Public Health Pest Control Certification, so our work is conducted safely and efficiently.
Through this approach, our "little yellow airplane" and dedicated team at Summer Agro Services proudly contribute to a healthier, more enjoyable Indian River community, one precise application at a time.
The Products We Use for Larval Control
-
Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti): A naturally occurring bacterial compound that targets mosquito larvae in an environmentally friendly way.
-
Methoprene: An insect growth regulator that halts mosquito development, stopping them from reaching the adult, biting stage.
-
Spinosad: Another safe, naturally occurring bacterial compound used for effective larval control.
